This Privacy Policy explains how Cakji Cakes accesses, collects, stores, uses and shares information when you use the Cakji Cakes Android application and related services.

Important: Cakji Cakes does not sell personal information. The app uses Firebase services for authentication, database functionality and notifications. Firebase states that it generally acts as a data processor/service provider for customer data. Firebase privacy information.

1. Information the app handles

Customer account information

  • Name and email address: collected when a customer creates an account. The customer profile is stored in Firebase Firestore.
  • Password: entered for account authentication and handled by Firebase Authentication. The app's customer profile document does not store the password.

Seller account information

  • Owner name, shop name, mobile number, email address, address, state, city and pincode are collected when a seller creates an account.
  • Seller subscription/status information and store settings may also be stored in the seller's backend record to operate the seller portal.
  • A Firebase Cloud Messaging token and token-update time are stored for seller notification functionality.

Delivery details

  • Customer delivery name, mobile number, address, city and pincode are saved locally on the device for checkout and delivery use.
  • The current app code explicitly tells the user that these delivery details are stored only on the device and are not saved to Firestore.

Location

  • The app requests approximate/precise Android location permission when the user uses the address-selection flow.
  • The current app uses the device's last location to show a map position and reverse-geocode it into an address/city.
  • The app code reviewed does not write raw latitude/longitude into the customer Firestore profile. Location handling should nevertheless be reviewed against the exact Google Maps/Geocoder SDK configuration before the Play Console Data Safety form is submitted.

Notification information

  • For seller accounts, Firebase Cloud Messaging provides a notification token which is stored with the seller record so seller notifications can be delivered.

2. How information is used

  • Create and authenticate customer and seller accounts.
  • Operate seller profiles and seller stores.
  • Display products, categories and store information.
  • Process checkout and prepare order details.
  • Send seller notifications.
  • Support account, store and subscription functionality.
  • Respond to support or account-deletion requests.

3. Information shared with third parties

Cakji Cakes uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Data sent to Firebase is transmitted over HTTPS and is handled according to the applicable Firebase service terms and privacy documentation.

When a customer explicitly chooses to place an order through WhatsApp, the app prepares a message containing the customer's entered delivery details and order information and opens WhatsApp for the seller's number. This is a user-initiated transfer. The customer should review the WhatsApp message before sending it.

The app does not contain advertising SDKs in the source code reviewed, and no advertising identifier or advertising analytics SDK was identified in this project.

4. Data security

Firebase documents HTTPS encryption for data in transit and encryption at rest for services including Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Messaging. Cakji Cakes does not intentionally sell personal or sensitive user data.

5. Data retention and deletion

Customer and seller account data is retained while the account and related service functionality are active, unless deletion is requested or a longer retention period is required for a legitimate legal or security reason.

Users may request deletion through the Delete Account page. Account deletion must also be available from inside the app before the app is submitted to Google Play, because Google Play requires both an in-app and external deletion method for apps that allow account creation.

6. Permissions

  • Internet: required for Firebase and online content.
  • Fine/Coarse Location: used by the address-selection flow to obtain the device's current/last location and derive an address/city.
  • Notifications: requested on supported Android versions for seller notifications.

7. Children's privacy

Cakji Cakes is not specifically designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for a child-directed service.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app's data practices or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page.
